Sailing Zatara – a Teak Transformation

It’s been all hands on deck for the team at Brin Wilson Boat Builders, as they partner up with Sailing Zatara for a Flexiteek 2G synthetic teak transformation!

It’s no secret that more and more people are choosing to replace their traditional teak decks with Flexiteek 2G synthetic teak. The draw of a cooler deck which requires less maintenance is incredibly appealing. Especially so for the busy family crew of Zatara.

The Sailing Zatara Crew

Keith and Renee head up the family crew of Zatara. Their unique journey started in late 2016 when they sold their suburban Texas home and bought a sailboat. Leaving the corporate world well and truly behind them. The family have now notched up over 30,000 nautical miles exploring a host of far-flung destinations.

Documenting their adventures onboard their Privilege 585 catamaran through weekly vlogs, the family have now racked up an avid audience of over 200,000 subscribers on their YouTube channel.

Teak Transformation

Keith got in contact with Flexiteek New Zealand distributor, Brin Wilson Boat Builders to design, fabricate and install a Flexiteek 2G synthetic teak deck on the Zatara.

The team at Brin Wilson worked closely with Keith and Renee on the design of their Flexiteek 2G synthetic teak. Even incorporating some special personal touches including a Z logo on the sugar scoops. Check it out here:
