Flexiteek International has funded over 20,000 trees in partnership with the World Land Trust (WLT) and its Plant a Tree Programme.

In 2020 Flexiteek announced its environmental pledge. To fund the planting of one tree for every 10m2 of Flexiteek 2G synthetic teak sold worldwide. Over two years later, the partnership continues to grow, with over 20,000 trees funded to date.

With an initial goal of 8000 trees for 2020, the team is delighted to have reached this impressive milestone. Especially when environmental commitments are paramount.

Chris Berry, Deputy CEO of Flexiteek, commented, “With thanks to our worldwide distributors, we have managed to fund the planting of 20,000 trees and, more importantly, spread the importance of global reforestation across the 40 countries in which we operate”.

WLT works with in-country partners to protect crucial land areas. Sites are selected that are rich in biodiversity and that support long-term conservation goals to connect and enlarge protected areas. They support the reforestation process via a network of partners. Further than simply planting and caring for the young trees their support helps as they are establishing as new forest habitat.

In 2019, global deforestation reached 64 million acres a year.

Flexiteek has signed an agreement with WLT to donate £5 for every 10m2 of Flexiteek 2G synthetic teak sold worldwide. Every £5 donation will go towards the nurturing, planting, and protecting of one tree in an area lost to deforestation.
