Women in Marine<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Women remain significantly underrepresented across the marine industry. According to the BIMCO\/ICS 2021 Seafarer Workforce Report<\/a> from 2021, women represent only 1.2% percent of the global seafarer workforce. In manufacturing more broadly, the picture is improving, with women now making up to 28.4% of the workforce, according to The Manufacturer<\/a>, but there is still progress to be made.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Encouragingly, the landscape is evolving. Today, there are more opportunities than ever across manufacturing, design, engineering, sales and marketing. And businesses like Flexiteek are actively contributing to that shift by building inclusive teams and showcasing the people behind the work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Because diversity isn\u2019t just about representation, it drives better outcomes. A broader mix of perspectives leads to stronger ideas, more effective problem-solving and ultimately, a more innovative and resilient industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Behind every role, every team and every finished product are the people who make it all happen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n At our headquarters, women are not only leading in departments like sales, marketing and HR, but they are also working hands-on in the production of Flexiteek<\/a> and Wilks<\/a> products. From pellet to final product, they play a vital role in creating marine decking and fendering solutions to an exceptional standard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And this commitment to quality doesn\u2019t stop at one site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Across our international sites in Sweden, Poland and Denmark, women are integral members of our fabrication teams, designing and manufacturing bespoke decks used across the global marine industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Every deck that leaves our facilities reflects the same attention to detail, the same pride in workmanship and the same commitment to excellence. And behind many of those decks are women whose skills and expertise are helping to shape the reputation of Flexiteek on a global scale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Our story doesn\u2019t stop at our own facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Flexiteek works with a global network of distributors, including many women-led and women-owned businesses.
