Strengthening Standards Through Global Collaboration

Wherever we produce a Flexiteek deck, the expectation is the same: precision, durability, and a consistent, high-quality finish that boat owners and boat builders expect.

Delivering that standard globally isn’t just about materials; it’s about people, processes, and shared knowledge that we share across the network.

This April, we saw that approach through a cross-regional collaboration between two of our distributors: Advanced Marine Decking (UK) and NAVALE (Australia).

Why Global Collaboration Matters in Marine Decking

One of the biggest challenges in marine manufacturing is maintaining consistent quality across different regions.

Whether it’s a superyacht project in Italy or a smaller sailing vessel in France, the expectation for a Flexiteek deck doesn’t change.  It needs to look right, perform long-term, and meet the same installation standards wherever someone fits it.

We achieve this through an active global partner network where knowledge sharing, technical alignment, and real-world collaboration ensure every deck meets the same benchmark. We encourage on-site, practical collaboration where we can transfer experience directly into production.

A Practical Approach to Knowledge Transfer

The most recent example of this is the collaboration between Advanced Marine Decking, in the UK and NAVALE, our new Australian distributor.

Over three weeks, Coby Wilson, an experienced production specialist at Advanced Marine Decking in the UK, is working directly within NAVALE’s Australian facility, supporting the team across live projects.

Garry Boomer, the General Manager at NAVALE, explains, “Having Coby here has been hugely valuable. It’s not about reinventing what we do, but refining it – and having someone with that level of hands-on experience working alongside the team day-to-day really helps lift the standard across the board.”

Working on real production schedules and active installation means the team can apply insights instantly, refining workflows, improving efficiency, and enhancing finishing detail in real time.

This not only improves the technical knowledge of the NAVALE team but also creates a stronger understanding on both sides.

What Do We Cover During the Training?

To make the collaboration as valuable as possible, the team worked across the full lifecycle of a Flexiteek deck, ensuring a well-rounded transfer of expertise.

This covers everything from precision fabrication techniques, welding consistency, detailing and installation best practices. It also covered workflow efficiency across production stages, as well as quality control and finishing standards.

Working across a wide range of principles and varied projects, from large yachts to smaller sailing vessels, allows advanced learning to take place across different layouts, specifications, and challenges.

Coby reflects on the experience:

“It’s been great to spend time with the team at NAVALE and get involved in some of the projects they’ve got underway. There’s a strong setup here and a good attention to detail, which makes a big difference when working with Flexiteek. It’s been a really productive few weeks all round.”

Maintaining Flexiteek’s Global Standard

We have built our reputation on consistency, which is one of the biggest reasons boat builders and owners choose Flexiteek.

But consistency doesn’t happen by accident through collaborations like this; we can ensure consistent fabrication standards across regions and continuous improvement at a local level. When our distributors and installers have a shared understanding of best practices, it provides not only us with confidence but also boat builders, designers, and owners.

This means no matter where you get your deck done, there is a consistent look and finish, and you can have confidence in the product and the people delivering it. We only achieve this through developing shared knowledge of proven installation methods and reliable long-term performance.

The Role of the Flexiteek Distributor Network

Flexiteek operates through a carefully selected global network of distributors.

What makes that network strong is that they actively connect to each other as well as their installers and dealers. This allows them to share knowledge, support each other, and continually improve how they deliver Flexiteek worldwide.

This approach ensures the brand remains not only technically consistent but scalable across regions. This aligned with evolving industry standards.

Growing Collaboratively

As demand for synthetic teak decking continues to grow, maintaining quality at scale becomes increasingly important.

Flexiteek’s approach is clear: we invest in people while strengthening our partnerships and sharing knowledge.

Because in the end, the quality of the product is only as strong as the network behind it.
