Boot Düsseldorf 2026: Flexiteek, Innovation and the German Markert

Every January, as the boating season pauses across Europe. The boat owners, builders and marine enthusiasts gather in Düsseldorf, Germany. This is the perfect time for the industry to gather. Allowing everyone to see how boats are being built, refitted and lived with and what the year holds ahead.

In 2026, Flexiteek will present its newest synthetic teak innovations alongside Wilks Fendering products, highlighting market trends and design excellence for Germany’s boating enthusiasts.

German Boat Market Trends 2026: Insights for Owners and Builders

The recent market research into the German boat market shows a clear trajectory. While new builds remain important, they have decreased due to demands from production yards. The refit and refurbishment are seeing a flurry of activity. Boat owners are investing in their boats. Prioritising improvements that offer long-term returns or enhance ease of use, rather than spending on novelty items.

This is where boat owners are looking more into the products and materials they are purchasing. Looking for products that will last long-term and season after season. They need these products not only to look right and feel right but to continue doing both for years after installation.

Flexiteek at boot Düsseldorf 2026: Synthetic Teak Decking Solutions

Flexiteek fits right into this, providing boat owners with a durable decking solution that will look and feel the same season after season. Over 25 years since we created the original PVC synthetic teak decking, we continue to invest in product development, ensuring boat owners and boat builders alike are provided with the best solution.

We will exhibit at Boot Düsseldorf 2026, supported by our German distributor, Ubben Decks. Boat shows create a space for conversations that may not happen online or questions that may not be answered in catalogues. Conversations about how products age, how they behave in real conditions and how they fit into the life of a boat, but also the ability to showcase the product in person.

Flexiteek 3, our latest generation of Flexiteek synthetic decking, was developed to provide boat owners with a lighter, more durable, and more sustainable decking solution. For many owners, the appeal is straightforward. Flexiteek 3 reduces maintenance, maintains its appearance and delivers consistency without removing character. It is a material designed to work quietly in the background, supporting ownership rather than demanding it.

Tritone: A Natural Look for Weathered Teak Without the Maintenance

During the development of Flexiteek 3, one observation came up repeatedly: perfect teak rarely stays perfect. Natural teak, though the exposure from sun, salt and use, softens its appearance, introducing variation and depth.

The Tritone range was then developed with this in mind and launched in mid-2025. This plank allows the colour to vary subtly through the planks. Tritone recreates the look of naturally weathered teak-not freshly laid, but lived in. We then recreated this in our Scrubbed and Ash colours to provide even more choice for owners.

Tritone resonates because it feels familiar. It reflects what owners already recognise from experience, translated into a material that removes the ongoing burden of upkeep.

Wilks Fendering: Protection That Enhances Boat Design

Our philosophy extends beyond decking through to our Wilks fendering products. In recent years, we have seen a shift in how fendering is viewed. Once only a functional component visually separate from the boat itself, it has now become part of a boat’s design element. While the protection remains essential, it no longer has to be visually separate from the boat itself.

Wilks fendering systems are designed to absorb the impact they may receive while now integrating cleanly into modern hull lines. Increasingly, they are chosen not only for what they prevent but for how they contribute to the overall design language of a boat.

For a market that values cohesion and intent, this approach feels natural. Additionally, Wilks fendering helps preserve some of the boat’s value over time. Using them helps prevent costly repairs that can occur when fendering is not installed.
