HERE IS WHAT WE ARE DOING IN 2025
Like any product, Flexiteek has an environmental footprint. We are taking steps to minimise its impact by using a bio-attributed PVC in Flexiteek 3 and REACH-compliant phthalate-free plasticisers.
We are also supporting initiatives that help the environment, like our partnership with World Land Trust and a new initiative for 2025, donating to Ocean Cleanup. Find out more about what we are doing this year to improve sustainability at our global locations.
FLEXITEEK SUPPORTS THESE CHARITIES IN 2025
WORLD LAND TRUST
We are proud to support World Land Trust (WLT), an international conservation charity that protects the world’s most biologically significant and threatened habitats, acre by acre.
For every 10m² of Flexiteek that we sell, we donate £5 to fund reforestation of vital habitat through WLT’s Plant A Tree programme. This is currently supporting WLT partners in Borneo, Brazil, Kenya and Ecuador. We’ve planted over 40 acres of trees so far!

OCEAN CLEANUP
For 2025, Flexiteek will be donating to Ocean Cleanup, a non-profit organisation based in the Netherlands. They are constantly developing and scaling technologies to rid the world’s oceans of plastic. Our donations this year will support things like logistics management, vessel operation and project implementation. Take a look at The Ocean Cleanup.

DEVELOPING SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTS FOR THE FUTURE
FLEXITEEK USES BIO-ATTRIBUTED PVC
Since the launch of Flexiteek 2G in 2014 we have been working to develop a more sustainable synthetic decking product. The result is the use of bio-attributed PVC which is derived from the use of Tall Oil (from trees) which has similar properties to fossil-fuel based PVC but without the environmental dilemmas.
The Tall Oil is produced from renewal and managed locations in Sweden, Finland and the USA and is certified by the Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials (RSB) to meet the standard for advanced products. It also produces up to 80% less greenhouse gases when compared to fossil-fuel based PVC.

UK MANUFACTURING HUB
Here are a few things we are doing at our Essex, UK location to support an improve sustainability practices for the future:
- We recycle over 80% of the water in our product manufacturing process.
- We recycle up to 70% of our waste product in the UK in 2023.
- We use REACH-compliant phthalate-free plasticisers in our products.
- We recycle 100% of our general waste including all cardboard and general rubbish.
SWEDEN PRODUCTION HUB
We opened our Swedish production hub in Fagersta in the summer of 2024. It features a number of sustainable features:
- A Ground Source Heat Pump provides 85% of the energy used in the building.
- Solar panels also provide additional energy and at certain times of the year we sells it to the national grid.
- Electric vehicle charging connections are available for team members and visitors.
- The building is our most energy efficient location.

SUSTAINABILITY CERTIFICATIONS
We have several certifications to underline our commitment to changing for the better:
- Our UK manufacturing operation has been awarded an ISO:14001 certification.
- We also have an ISO:9001 Quality certification.
- We have a coveted EcoVadis ‘Committed’ certification in 2024/25.
